Hi there and welcome to one of my favorite months! Not only is it my birth month, August marks our transition into my favorite time of year: fall and winter.
August at Eventide Casting will be business as usual (with a whopping four market dates), with a couple of things to note.
First, if you follow my Instagram (@eventide.casting) you may have noticed that my commissions will be closed for the month of August. I will start taking new custom orders for September and October during the last week of the month. I chose to do this because as much as I love custom work, with four market dates, my birthday, and a visit from my family this month, I knew that adding commissions into the mix would just be too much. I want to make sure I'm always giving 110% to everything aspect of my business. That said, I can't wait to see what we'll come up with together this fall!
Second, I am finally set up for silver casting, which means I'll be able to make amazing hand-sculpted settings and incorporate so many unique and organic elements into my designs. I'm so excited to show you guys what I have been working on.
Third, I've added a couple of new made to order ring band options to the Silver Rings section of the shop, the Flora band and the Daisy Chain. These two designs have been huge hits at markets so I wanted to offer them online as well. The widely requested Chevron band will be making its appearance in the shop later on this week.
Fourth and finally, I will be adding 14kt rose gold-filled and 14kt gold-filled sections to the shop this month. These offerings will include primarily rings and earrings, and you'll be seeing mixed metal pieces popping up in all sections of the shop. Gold-filled means that the top 5% of the metal is a layer of solid gold fused to a core of base metal, which is usually brass. It is a great option for being able to have jewelry that looks and wears just like gold (since all visible parts are gold) at an affordable price point.
That's all I have for you this month, I'll see you at a market or talk to you soon!
